📸 Day 2 -- Photos That Actually Sell

The £5 vs £50 difference is often just lighting

Yesterday you fixed your titles. Today we fix the thing buyers look at first -- your photos.

I've seen identical items sell for 3-5x more just because one seller took better photos. This isn't opinion -- it's data from managing 550+ listings.

📱 The Free Photo Setup

You don't need a DSLR. Here's what works:

Background White A3 card from Tesco (£1.50). Curve it against a wall.
Light Natural daylight near a window. Overcast days = best (no harsh shadows).
Camera Your phone. Turn OFF flash. Clean the lens first.
Distance Fill 80% of the frame. No zooming -- move closer physically.

🖼️ The 8-Photo Template

eBay gives you 12 free photos. Use at least 8:

  1. Hero shot -- front, clean, centred (this is your thumbnail)
  2. Back/reverse -- shows completeness
  3. Label/tag close-up -- brand, size, batch code (proves authenticity)
  4. Condition close-up -- any wear, scratches, or defects (honesty sells)
  5. Scale shot -- next to a common object (coin, pen, hand)
  6. Packaging/box -- if included, show it
  7. Accessories -- caps, cables, bags, everything included
  8. Lifestyle/in-use -- helps buyer visualise owning it

🚫 Photo Killers

🎯 Today's Action: Set up your photo station (5 minutes). Retake photos for your 3 worst listings using the 8-photo template. Upload and compare impressions in a week.

Tomorrow: Pricing psychology -- why £24.99 outsells £25.00 (and when to ignore that rule).
